Our Story

The Association of American Medical Colleges estimates that the U.S. could see a shortage of 54,100 to 139,000 physicians by 2033. That shortfall is expected to span both primary and specialty care fields. Witnessing the lack of funding for Medical Magnet Programs in high schools prompted the Alvarez family to create the Medical Magnet Foundation. With this in mind, the goal was simple; to empower high school students to achieve their potential in higher education and explore diverse paths in the medical field at an early age, mirroring existing programs such as Project A-Pulse® and others like it.
